This section covers a selection of Email Archiving products. Due to increased email volumes there is increased used of Email Archiving, especially as popular email products such as Exchange 2010 recommend the use of quotas. If you are planning to use quotas on mailbox sizes but have a legal requirement to store all email for a period of time (eg: 7 years), then you will most likely need to deploy an Email Archiving solution.
In addition, Email Archiving software can often be leveraged during the email migration process. An example of this could be to bring the date forward by which emails are archived within the legacy email system – this then allows the email migration to the new email system to be achieved in a shorter timeframe. As long as the email archive platform is not changing as well!
