The Microsoft Migration tools covered here are often criticised for lack of features when compared to products from other companies. However, the Microsoft tools are commonly used due to the lack of cost, or lack of complexity.
Microsoft Transporter Suite
A common approach to a typical email migration project from Lotus Notes to Exchange 2007 is to use the Microsoft Transporter Suite to provide the basic connectivity and co-existence, and then to use Quest to provide all the migration functions required. There have been reports of the Microsoft Transporter Suite not scaling up very well with enterprise-scale migration operations. A new version of the Microsoft Transporter Suite is due in February 2009, and new features have been promised. Microsoft Transporter Suite is becoming the accepted standard for inter-connecting Lotus Notes with Microsoft Exchange 2007. See information later in this website about GroupWise migrations, as the Transporter Suite will not work with GroupWise.
