Rob Walton is an experienced email consultant with a University Honours Degree in Computer Science, and has worked as a Technical Lead on numerous email migration projects involving a range of business sectors and technologies, starting way back in the Microsoft Mail era, through to today’s technologies such as Exchange 2010 SP2. More recently Rob has been working on migration projects covering Quest Software, Exchange 2007, Exchange 2010, Lotus Domino and GroupWise. Rob is Quest certified in their Lotus Notes Migrator, and GroupWise Migrator products.
Rob has been personally been responsible for moving over 100,000 mailboxes during his many email migration projects (15+). Each project has seen him gain more experience, which he can bring to the next project. This knowledge and experience has allowed him to make informed decisions during any email migration project, helping towards its success. Many technical people offer opinions during a typical email migration project, which can sound convincing. However, his opinions are backed up by experience, and the knowledge of how a decision will play out later in the project life-cycle.
This has resulted in a wealth of email migration experience across the entire project life-cycle encompassing: pre-sales, RFP response, architecture, design, implementation, operational support, documentation and handover.

Remote Email Consultant
For remote projects his most effective role is that of Trusted Technical Advisor, typically working alongside the Project Manager, and helping make key technical decisions, whilst managing the technical engineers who are on site. This also gives you the option to use his skills to produce key Design Documents, which the on site team often lack time to achieve. Regular communication via email and Skype ensures he stays in close contact with the team.
His current base is the Australia & New Zealand region, but he is happy to consider traveling further afield if required, and can work effectively remotely.
