Cloud

With the advent of hosted Microsoft Exchange solutions (cloud), I have added this section to look into email migration factors when considering a move to the Cloud.

Financially the move is tempting, but have you considered what the impact will be on your business, as a result of the move of one of your most critical applications to somewhere at the end of an internet connection?  For example, how often does your internet connection and/or proxy service fail?

Moving to the Cloud needs to be an informed decision which allows both financial and technical factors to be considered equally, with valid constraints in either area enough to veto the move.

Cloud services can greatly increase the impact of a system vulnerability, so a business may wish to research cloud security with Trend Micro and the solutions they offer to protect the network from malware, spyware, and unauthorized access.

This section of the website covers the following sub-topics:

  • Exchange 2010 Cloud Offerings: Summary of a selection of Hosted Exchange “cloud” solutions available, and what you can expect for your money.
  • Migrating to the Exchange 2010 Cloud: What to expect when you migrate from your on-site email system to a Hosted Exchange “cloud” solution.
  • Hosted Exchange 2010 Cloud Considerations: Factors when deciding if a Hosted Exchange “cloud” solution is right for your company.

This is a new section to the website and is still being developed.
